Any web developers / designers who stutter? I’ve been stuttering since I hit puberty I guess, went though a really tough childhood around there and it’s been there since then. I’m a blocker primarily as well, which is the worst when I’m on the phone. I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with the fears and anxieties that I also go through (phone calls, having to say something like your name where you can’t swap words out etc) I’ve been self studying to be a web developer for about 5 months solidly at home. I study for about 6 hours a day making and developing web pages. I love my work and I love studying it so much and I can tell this is going to be something that will be my passion for a long time. The thing is, I don’t speak often when I’m on my own really, but I know I’m going to be speaking to my colleagues and boss often at the work place. I don’t mind that at all and I’m pretty good in conversation when it’s more free flowing. I’m more or less afraid of the interview stage with this where I hope they can see past my speech and see the work I’ve done and what I’m capable of. I’m not just my speech, but I’m someone who is very driven and know my stuff. I guess I’d like to know if there’s anyone else out there like me who has a stammer and is also in a developer or web design career role like I’d hope to be in to maybe give me some positive vibes?
