It's more specific sounds than specific words that give me trouble - particularly vowel starting sounds. Conversely, I also have safe words that I never stutter on, like words that start with S, L, or F sounds. One adjustment I've made over the course of my life is learning synonyms of other words that begin with these sounds, so if I sense a block coming I can substitute.
