I don't know. People treat stuttering way differently than other disabilities. I have an uncle who's blind and for the most part people go out of their way to be helpful and kind and understanding to him. Definitely no one would find his disability amusing. Maybe some people find it awkward to be around him, but it doesn't seem like it. Mostly they want to know about his technology and think the fact that he can do stuff is really cool and make a big deal about it. But stuttering is just seen as ridiculous, comedic, or weird and I hardly ever get treated like a normal human being. I feel like no one has the patience to talk to me enough to get used to the way I talk and not feel uncomfortable.
