I recommend attending a NSA conference or something similar with people who stutter, you need to realize there are a ton of people who stutter in the country, it’s just most people hide it so you never really hear it. It can be a very isolating feeling. Self acceptance and accepting that you have a stutter and there is no cure is key. Go talk to 10 strangers, maintain eye contact and tell them that you stutter and you are working on talking to strangers. Face your fears. They will be very supportive. Nobody cares that you stutter. From there, you can join a program or NSA chapter and try to find techniques that work for you to help control your stutter. But if you do that you still have to remember you are a person who stutters.
