This is because you are speaking in a way that is not natural to you. You will stutter less if you speak quietly or at a different pitch, but it will not last long. I remember tons of tricks to "speak softly", "speak loudly", "speak from the chest" and so on, but it all is temporary.. What about classes? You probably don't stutter because no one is paying attention to you, so your stuttering gets a little rest.
