Have you spoken to your teacher about this? It’s the best thing to do. Most of my teachers were incredibly supportive. I had the best Careers and French teacher, who would allow me to stay after class and worked with me. My stutter is extremely mild, and rarely causes me issues. I’ve had therapists call me on the phone, and feel the need to double check it is me their talking to. But my stutter is severely heightened in stressful or unfamiliar situations. Presenting and reading aloud was something I struggled with. Throughout my A-Levels and even at University level I always made my teachers and lecturers aware of it. Reading about from a book was always I struggled with. When I’m speaking aloud about a thought on my mind, I can often reroute, using words I find easier to say, but reading from a book, the words are quite literally set in stone. Please don’t sit in silence, have a chat with your teacher. If it’s a novel you guys are reading through, maybe try practising in your own time or looking for certain pages you think you mightn’t struggle on as much. Perhaps ask your teacher if you can read a certain page?
