52 year old stutter been doing it for life. I have dealt with the same thing. No 100% solid answer. I turned into an asshole of sorts in the sense that when someone tries to belittle me like that I get just as obnoxious. Some will respect you for it and some will hate you but I got tired of just letting it pass me. People will walk all over you if you let them. I don't like to be that person but its dog eat dog world. No one will stop the clock for you. Same with speech therapy. I can do all the targets in private but under stress they are worthless. Thats why I quit therapy many moons ago. Good Luck.
