Yes, but maybe not in the way you think. It was the journey through college and everything that went with it that improved my speech. It was all the presentations, phone calls, projects, etc. It was very difficult but incredibly rewarding. I owe everything I have right now to that accomplishment and I would not even be an SLP if I didn't stutter. Stuttering made me who I am and I am thankful for that. If I wasn't an SLP I would not have met my mentor, whom I work with on stuttering and I have made the most progress in my life.
