If they’re your close friends they probably understand how frustrating it must be at times for you. I’ve told them embarrassing stories relating to it before, I tend to tell them in a dramatic way that helps to make it less serious and we can laugh about it together. But there’s genuine empathy there too, they are very patient and if they weren’t they wouldn’t be my friends. It’s that simple in my eyes. If you friends are decent people they’re not gonna get annoyed by it or think you’re slow like others are saying. In terms of regular people, I think if you’re interacting with them often enough they will realise that it’s a stutter or some “disability” and not that you’re slow. And if they don’t realise that they’re the slow ones 100%.
