Oh she's nervous Anyone hate when people write you off as being nervous when you absolutely are not? Many things can make my stutter worse including being excited about something or a routine change. At work, many clients will ask if I am nervous. I'll explain that I stutter and it can happen for no reason and that I'm not nervous. Later someone else will work with that client and they will point to me and say "she's so nervous". Years ago when I was in college and going for a therapy degree my advisor kept telling me I had to get my anxiety under control and I needed medicine. It didn't matter how often I tried to explain my stutter ignored me. So I went on medicine. Later I found myself without insurance, stopped the mess cold turkey and that was a disaster. (Also ended up dropping out of the program)
