IMO whenever you are trying to overcome stuttering, you can't help contemplating on stuttering. So I suggest you should stop trying to overcome stuttering, or I can say, 'befriend' your stuttering, and just don't take it easy like you are gonna yarn/yarning when you are about to stutter/stuttering. And if you really wanna improve your stuttering go get some good speech therapists' helps, or you can try techniques summarized on this sub, but you gotta trial and error to find ones that can really help you...(but still remember, techniques cannot 'overcome' your stuttering, and it's a very unrealistic goal. The reason why you can't help thinking about stuttering is implicating your perceptions of stuttering)
