Good for you bro. Happy that you switched very early on, many don't have this option. Yes, engineers do have to give briefings but its mostly technical stuff and to your own team, they're not trying to sell something by impressing the audience. I once had presentation in uni, my group was selected to present in the auditorium, instead of in the class. I was so scared, intentionally didn't go that day. Needless to say, my group members were pissed 😔
