Do you tell people you stutter and that's why you can't say your name? People will usually get off my case when I explain that. Some people are rude and will mock me but I try to ignore it or stay away from them if possible. I tend to write down what I want to say a lot of the time too, if I can get away with it. My stutter is very severe. I agree that having a stutter is a pretty hard disability to live with. I have a close family member that's blind and is much happier and functional in society than us in the family who stutter. It's pretty horrible. I can't even talk to the girl I like and I really worry about never being able to get married. At least I have other family members who stutter, including older ones like my granddad who is a great example and mentor to me. That helps. I think just having even a handful of people who really understand and who accept you and like you makes a lot of difference.
