Stutter and miscommunication I stutter less as an adult, but I find it very difficult to control the tone of my voice. I often feel like I need to force words or sometimes complete sentences out. This causes miscommunication with my wife as she interprets it as me being angry at her. Does anyone have tips on how to regulate that? My wife is very understanding but it is nevertheless causing problems. My fear is that I've learned to avoid feeling the guilt, shame and inadequacy stuttering causes me at all costs. So instead of stuttering, I brute force my way through talking, which to others sounds like I'm raising my voice.
