If my fluent speech didn’t rub off on my kiddo, your stutter won’t rub off on yours. It’s like how kids grow up with parents who have a strong accent. They somehow know who to model themselves after. And if they stutter. It’s ok. It is a sucky journey, but so many of the best people I’ve ever met are people who stutter. The obstacle is the path. You can’t bs your way out of a situation. You understand how shitty people can be. I now have a lot of people who stutter in my life and I forget about it more often than not. It’s just how they talk. I value who they are and what they have to say and they’ve taught me how to listen. No one ever chooses this community, but after being here a while, I’m glad it’s here and it’s an important part of my life.
