It's not necessarily eye contact specifically, and my point about being engaged and attentive might be clearer if I talk about what not to do. When I stutter I sometimes see coworkers shuffle their papers, inspect the ceiling, inspect their mug, etc. It feels shitty because it makes it clear that they're uncomfortable and want to get out of the situation. I understand, I feel the same way hearing other people stutter, it's seeing someone struggle but being unable to help, you don't know what to do with yourself. But it does make me feel shitty to see that I do that to people. I don't expect any more eye contact than a normal conversation, just try not to look uncomfortable
