For me, stress is a huge factor. When I’m more relaxed, or around people I feel comfortable with, I speak much more fluently. On the other hand, when I’m meeting new people. talking to strangers, or am stressed at all it gets severely worse. Also, I have found that caffeine and alcohol affect my stutter immediately and severely. So, I don’t really drink very often (which I guess is a good thing). Meditation has a helped me a lot. In fact, I think it’s the only thing that has worked. Try reading up on some Zen meditation techniques or read the book ‘Wherever You Go, There You Are’ by Jon Kabat-Zinn. This is what worked for me, I hope it helps!
