Thank you for your comment! Yes, I was planning on working along those lines. I think one of the challenges will be to show her stutter in relation of her general character growth (learning to speak up for herself, overcoming self-doubt and growing comfortable with who she is), without taking away from its realness. So basically even though in terms of story it serves as a manifestation of her fear and insecurity, to her it is of course a very real speech disorder, not a personality quirk or plot device. She is an unusual heroine in that she is shy and inhibited, but these qualities are also where her unique strength lies. As she grows as a character and overcomes a lot of her fears, I'm thinking she will get more comfortable with her speech (and herself as a whole) and stutter less, but won't be magically cured - after all it's still a part of her. Anyway, sorry, I'm rambling! But yes her stutters certainly feeds into her insecurities, which I am hoping will make her arc come alive as she both literally and figuratively finds her voice.
