Simple… Type 2 diabetes. My parent were both Type 1 diabetic and our son is also Type 1. Unfortunately, being fit did not prevent the onset of Type 2. Total failure for me. I improved my diet by eliminating all red meat, refined carbs and other foods that metabolize into sugar. Honestly, I wanted my cake and eat it too. I ran to eat crap and not gain weight. Didn’t work for my blood sugar levels. Just because I’m fit didn’t mean I ate a healthy diet. Sucks, but I now eat better. A1C is in normal range.
