I'd like to add with the maturity and emotional intelligence thing, in my experience (working on my PhD now), most people in college simply don't care, either about the stutter or really what another student is saying unless it's directed at that. If they're in a classroom and have to listen to you give a presentation or something, half of them probably aren't paying attention and the rest actually want to listen to the content you're presenting. I've never experienced negativity in college because I stutter. I know not everyone will have that same experience but I've been to four universities and no one cared. What I'm trying to get at it, you have a lot more room to be comfortable with yourself.
