I know someone who also only started stuttering at 18. it's rare but not unheard of. Only advice I can give (other than find a *_qualified_* speech therapist who understands stuttering) is to know it is ok to stutter and not shy away from talking. I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be to deal with a new stutter now, but it can be a slippery slope and I really don't want you developing bad habits to avoid stuttering or begin hiding. Know it's OK to stutter, it'a ok for you to take as much time as you need to get your words out. It's OK because you have no other choice, except to maybe fight it. And let me tell you, that fight is a losing battle because you're fighting against yourself. Keep your head up. Maybe see if there's an NSA chapter in your city (you can find a list on westutter.org)
