I personally don't really see it that way. Stuttering is a condition, yes, but it's also something that just happens. Someone getting tripped up on their words, no matter who it is, stuttered. We just happen to do it constantly. So terms like "did I stutter" are likely referring to the natural stutter that happens to everyone occasionally, rather than trying to paint those of us who suffer from it as a condition in a bad light. It's different from a term like "are you deaf?", because there's really only one meaning, deafness. It portrays deafness as a bad thing. With "did I stutter", I don't feel it has anything to do with our condition at all. But that's just my opinion.
