I can relate wholeheartedly. Stuttering has a way of stripping us of our sociability in a way non-stutterers cannot even begin to fathom. Even for those of use that aren’t very social to begin with our stutters can be anxiety-inducing and lead to prolonged periods of isolation and poor mental health. I’m no psychologist, but I think Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coupled with speech therapy could be a good concoction to alleviate the feelings of helplessness you’re experiencing and could potentially reduce the severity of your stutter. If that’s not an option, at least make sure you’re getting ample rest, exercising regularly, and following a well-balanced diet..
