I totally agree that a stutter is a people filter. I don’t think it’s necessarily pessimistic if you’re seeing a repeated pattern of how people respond to you. It’s taken me a long time to fully get comfortable with the fact that my stutter is a part of my identity and get comfortable with people having mixed reactions to interacting with me, but it still hurts a little bit when I see reactions from people I work with when i’m having a bad fluency day
