I'm stuttering as long as I can remember, so it's quite impossible to determine HOW I realized it - it was always there. About WHO realized it first, If I have to guess I'll say it was my parents. I definitely stutter more in "formal" situations, school (or currently, college in my case) is definitely one of them. I don't stutter around my family that much and around any other person that I feel comfortable with. My mom sometimes says that I don't stutter for a month or two which is, of course, not true, I just stutter less in front of her and she's used to it, so I guess she doesn't notice it that much anymore. Stress is a topic for itself, but yes - it can definitely trigger stuttering. I myself didn't go to speech therapy except for a short time in preschool, but I don't remember what was it like. About alcohol... Well, I have some experience with it, but it's usually "non-formal" situations where I already feel good enough and therefore I'm stuttering less, but it's definitely not like I don't stutter drunk - I do. And, I'm not a fan of it, I think people should be able to have fun and be relaxed without alcohol and especially without drugs. Btw, do you have any particular reason why you are interested in this?
