I took a 4 year performance degree with dysarthia and a stutter - many public performances. My impediment never went away on stage, tbh it helped me accept it better because it became part of my performativity. When it eventually got sorted out through the extreme circumstances of spinal cord injury and intense speech therapy I ... not going to lie .. lowkey kind of missed having it. Now my speech is fluent, it feels sort of weird because its not how I knew myself previously. But that's off topic - I did used to perform yeah, and I still stream sometimes.
