Is my form of stuttering curable? 25M. I have been stuttering since I was 4 years old, but it comes and it goes. There are times when it is really bad, like in times of high anxiety, stress etc, but there are times where it's virtually 95% gone i.e. when I'm really happy and things are going well. When I was 9 years old, and 21 years old, it virtually disappeared. I wouldn't even really call it a stutter, it's more blocking than anything else. Here are some things I've noticed: - I can speak completely fluently when I am alone, when I speak to animals, and to children. So there is nothing physically wrong with me. - I stutter more around adult men and just men in general, as opposed to women. - I have anxiety and major RSD which may play a role. - I took magic mushrooms once, and my speak was completely fluent. - When I sing I don't stutter. - When I make a funny voice deep or high, I don't stutter. So why can I do all of these things, but when I use my own voice to talk to other people, I find it extremely difficult? Do I have a deep insecurity, and just a fear of stuttering? Any tips would also be great!
