Anyone else stop stuttering when changing voice? I have had a stutter my whole life (I'm female in late 20s). I have different techniques to control it and one of them is speaking in another voice. This is something that I was never taught, I just did it automatically and now I do it without thinking. Whenever I feel a stutter coming on, I change my voice to a higher pitch, like a baby voice, and it stops the stutter. I don't know why it's a high pitched voice, I never actually chose what voice to do. But my family hates it. I've tried explaining stuttering to them but they don't really listen, they think it's a simple fix. They tell me stop doing the voice but I can't control it, it's like a reflex now. Does anyone else have a 'voice' that they automatically do when they stutter?
