Thank you for sharing. That there are more left-handed people who stutter is a myth. Even if you stutter and are left-handed that does not make it empirically relevant. Some people own cats and stutter. That doesn't mean their cats are responsible for their stutter ;-) Another inaccuracy: we do know what provokes stuttering. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder and the structural and functional differences in the brains of people who stutter are now well documented. We also know the factors that can improve fluency or increase stuttering. It's a shame the media loves to use words like "cruel, suffer, victim". People who stutter should be empowered and not victimised. I would love to see an article with the headline "It's ok to stutter!" that explores how if society was more tolerant, people who stutter wouldn't actually have a problem.
