I usually don’t mind when someone says something like “oh, did you forget your name?” But tonight I was serving and as I greeted a table I stuttered on my name. The mother laughs and asks if I’m thinking of what name to use that night, and I smile and politely say that I actually have a stutter. I didn’t mind her comment, but then she responded with “Aw that’s so cute and adorable, you wear it well” which kinda pissed me off for the rest of the shift. It’s not something we can take off whenever we choose, so it’s not something we can “wear”!
