Alcohol doesn't simply "give confidence". Alcohol _distorts_. We should remember this modification whenever we speak about lessons (purportedly) learned from/during intoxication. Anyway, I've experienced both - less stutter and more stutter. In general, stutter can vary a lot, so that's not really a surprise. What I'm saying is - don't think alcohol is a thing you can rely on. It's too fickle.
