I have a cousin that’s 14. He was the worst about my picking on me for my stutter and he got away with it because “he’s the baby” One night, my family, (grandma, his mom, and 2/4 of his siblings and one of their SO) and I went out to eat at a new sushi restaurant. One of the older one’s SO mocked me at the table and I said ‘don’t do that, I’m not okay with it.’ He had stopped, but my younger cousin was trying to be cool and started to mock me. I asked him to stop but he didn’t. The whole time his mom was telling him to stop too. I will not forget the look of absolute shock on his face when I turned to him and popped him in the mouth with my chopsticks. I told him he’s lucky he pissed off me instead of somebody who would do some real damage. He hasn’t mocked me again. P.S. we live in south Louisiana where it’s common to pick on each other. It’s like if they don’t pick in you, they don’t like you, but this was just my cousin being young and mean. This wasn’t the first time my family has picked on me about my stutter, but it was the last.
