Thank you for your comment! That article is really interesting. There is definitely some evidence that stuttering can appear in deaf people who only sign, but it appears differently because the differences between BSL and spoken languages that you described. You are probably right that signing languages might be less effected by stuttering or at least effected differently but there does seem to be evidence that stuttering can at least have some effect. This is a fair example from the same paper: "So in conclusion, data suggests that the stuttered sign phenomenon exists. Survey results also suggest that while this phenomenon seems more prevalent in SimCom, it also exists in manual signed communication as well. Finally, while the incidence and prevalence of stuttered sign in the deaf or HH population does seem to be significantly less than in the hearing population, it appears to be present nonetheless." (Snyder 2006) I'll be super interested to find out more anyway. I can at least say anecdotally that my signing seems to be affected in a similar way to my speech. Whether this is because you still mouth some words, I don't know. I'll be doing more research anyway. Stuttering is so weird and interesting.
