I'm glad you found something that works for you, but for people with more severe stutters these techniques can be damaging. I think someone needs to reach a stage of acceptance and avoidance reduction first and foremost. What happens when a crutch doesn't work for someone? Focusing on allowing onself to stutter openely and confidently really helped me. I was originally using all sorts of crutches to try and not stutter and just found myself living in a constant state of anxiety. I'm working towards spontaneous fluency, and I'm not sure if thinking about crutches will get me there - but we are all on our own journeys and different things work for different people.
