To me, jumping in the deep end is a case by case basis. I wasn’t prepared to give presentations in college so I was given alternate options by the disabilities services department at the college. After college, I’ve gained much more confidence with zoom/phone calls. If I was forced to give presentations in college, I wouldn’t have made it through.
