im 36 years old..have always had a severe stutter, around my late 20s i finally had enough of it. Was tired of running away from it, letting it control my life, making me avoid things i needed to do as an adult. I went on the NSA site and found a chapter local to me for support groups. A guy was there doing a documentary on stuttering and asked for volunteers. After all the years of me not sharing my life I decided to volunteer to tell my side of things. as with age and a turning point i just stopped giving a damn, went to therapy, got a lot better (have since relapsed a bit) but im way better than what i was. The biggest improvement is my mindset about the whole ordeal, if i need help finding something in a store i ask, when i order food I order exactly what i want. As for people being shitty, yea you'll run into those. Don't let it ruin your day, use your stutter to filter out the assholes in your life.
