I worked as a order/sales rep for a catering company and even though we live in a day and age where orders/proposals/pricing etc could be created/customised/processed/sent online or via email, a few of the accounts still insisted on doing it by phone, which was always my kryptonite. I always got compliments from my direct boss on my writing skills etc, but that wasn't enough. One of the accounts, (big one) who preferred doing things over the phone had an "issue", and needless to say my days were numbered. Many a time, i've been hit with the "compliment" of "you really know what you're doing", etc. Apparently, they were of the impression that because i stuttered, i was less than competent or intelligent. I'm always having to go/do above and beyond to prove my worth.
