One thing that can help is stuttering on purpose. I totally know the feeling of wanting to hide stuttering, but it just makes it worse. But if you stutter heavily on purpose in between words it will put you in the driver’s seat, which will make you feel powerful. Every time it’s like you are doing a dare that somebody told you to do but it’s even better than that, because you are self directed and facing your own fears in your own time. After doing it on purpose, then tell them you stutter so once again you are being proactive. Then do what you can to increase your assertiveness, and I believe as hard as it can be, it starts with believing that what you have to say matters. The Dave McGuire Program provides a breathing technique, and knowledge on the psychological side of stuttering that I believe really helps to prevent full relapses, though you may have small ones as you gain more fluency. They have an inexpensive book on Amazon called Beyond Stammering: The Sport of getting good at speaking Also, I would really recommend the YouTube channel “Stutteringmind.” Rama Silva is really encouraging and can even put some humor into his experience stuttering
