I highly suggest you tell the teacher you cannot physically do this. Here’s why: facing a massive mountain of trauma takes baby steps and slowly gaining confidence. Speaking in front of school age peers is jumping into the deep end without knowing how to swim. Start by making phone calls to stores “what time do you close” or “do you have popcorn”, etc. then work your way up. It’s a huge leap backwards to speak in front of a class. Start slow, no sense in unnecessary trauma. My 7th grade teacher forced me to recite a poem in front of the class. (2010). It was the most humiliating experience of my life. And the kids & teacher never again looked at me as a normal person. My teacher apologized after, but her words did not clean the shit that she made.
