It’s a great trade! Tips are great. I only planned on being a bartender temporarily and then loved it and have done it at least part time ever since. What’s nice about bartending is that you’re typically in control of the interaction. It does force you to be more sociable and create connections in order to drive that tip probability up, but I’ve found it easy doing so. I’m an extrovert with a stutter which has been difficult, but have found that the role has strengthened my stutter. Occasionally I get tripped up on a word, but have found ways to change the subject or reword. It becomes second nature once you get the hang of it. If you like people and have a passion for creating memorable experiences for others I’d recommend it! Let your faith be bigger than your fear.
