I was good at maths and top of my class through high school, but always felt I could have been better. Later in life, 25 years on, some friends who reconnected with me said I no longer sound as intelligent as I used to be. I felt bad. I have been pummeled by the chaos of stuttering all these years, and haven't developed myself that much. This could be retardation, occasioned by stuttering
