He might end up being someone who stutters or he might not. Stuttering does run in families. But, if that happens it’s not your fault nor something you should feel shamed about, even though it may seem like it now. One of my best friends who stutters has refused to have kids because he might pass on his stuttering. It breaks my heart because he would love to be a dad otherwise. My wife is 18 weeks pregnant right now. My kid might stutter. If so, I’m ok with that. They will have me. I know what it’s like to stutter. They will Be supported and have a healthy outlook about it. I guess my point is, that stuttering or not, you can be a great parent to that kid. It’s just about how you frame it.
