I’m in law and I handle it by just telling people upfront. Takes the pressure off me and removes the mystery for them. Does it lead to perfection? No. But it leads to me being a little more comfortable with me. It sounds like you’re beating yourself up so much. It’s not your fault! If she has a negative reaction to something you can’t help, that’s on her, not you! We’re entitled to self-compassion.
