Most stuttering is developmental stuttering, which is the typical kind. Emotional trauma I don't think causes it without a genetic base or if it does cases are exceedingly small. Head/neck injuries are also quite small. Stuttering as a teen can be developmental stuttering as well, it's not that uncommon. I know people who have started stuttering in their late teens and there was no emotional trigger, it was just a very late onset.
