Several years ago I worked for GameStop as an ASL and this guy came in wanted to buy a PlayStation 3 so I explained to him that we did not have any in stock. I told him I could get one ordered and call him when it arrived. WELL. This man had a whole hissy fit, “What good is a game store that I can’t buy consoles in?” And such other childish ramblings. So I’m talking to this guy still telling him that I could easily order one and call him when it came in. He was pretty upset so I was getting flustered and I was stuttering a bit while talking to him. AND THIS MAN. MOCKS my stutter to my face and calls me “Porky Pig”… … I told him and I quote verbatim, “If you’re gonna act like a child you can leave my store. If you come back we will be calling the police to have you removed from the premises.” So I put him on trespass and told all the other employees in my store that if he came back to call the cops. I have NEVER in my almost 25 years of having a stutter been disrespected that much and haven’t been since. But To be fair I had never heard that one before surprisingly. Looking back on it, it is low hanging fruit but I remember it humorously.
