I mean I understand this take, and I'd say this is the most common mindset on this sub. I see at least a few times a week people saying that if we let the stutter hold us back, that's totally on us. So you aren't alone in this belief. I get what you're saying, but I think personality, extreme self-discipline, life outlook all play a huge part in how far you'll go in life while living with at least a moderate stutter. If you're naturally a really likeable person, the stutter won't be such a deal killer. Someone else who either isn't very attractive or has a personality that's more of an "acquired taste"... may suffer more in life. Someone who may naturally be more of a loner and/or not as ambitious.. will also cope better .
