People who have never encountered stutterers before kinda come across as people with not enough world/life experience or just not educated/ cultured enough to me. Because the truth is that there are stutterers all over the world, in all cultures and all generations. If they have never left their small little town with the same few people of always, then it is no wonder that they are shocked when they finally meet one person who stutters and then they don’t know how to act. And even if that is the case, there are still plenty of books and films about stuttering and a fair share of influencial people from all over the world in all sort of disciplines who also stutter. People who have never encountered any of these cultural references either… do they live under a rock? We don’t need to pay for people’s ignorance :)
