i’ve asked my friends about this as well and they always said that my stutter doesn’t really change the way they see me! they usually “see through my stutter” as in, it’s a part of me but not my only character trait. i think it’d be a good idea to ask your friends as well! eg i perceive my stutter as severe but my friends always say it’s very subtle which confuses me? hm maybe your friends are hesitant to ask because they don’t want to make you uncomfortable? realistically speakingc we might seem a bit awkward or distant to strangers (my guess), and it might even be the first thing they notice.
