I would advise against #1. There's a reason SLPs need to be licensed. Also techniques most of the time do more harm than good, not to mention all the snake oil salesmen there can be peddling their cures. I like what /u/francopiccolo posted. Sharing groups or ways stutters can connect with a quality therapist or a local ground would be helpful. Many people don't even know their options.
