It sucks having to rely on people’s kindness, but I’m glad that you found a team with kind people. I think that for people with severe stutter it should be valid to rely in similar resources (if not the same) as mute people, such as being able to write what they want to say, have an electronic talker or anything of that nature. Their teams should be understanding and be flexible to make this kind of exceptions to include them. I find this easier to be expected from jobs in which you don’t work directly with the public and your communication is most of the times, if not always, internal with your team colleagues (for example people that work producing a product or a service, such as: the IT sector, video editors, graphic designers, translators, accountants may be and so on). And if anyone tries to be a dick about it and deny severe stutterers the chance of using valid resources to work and have a normal lifestyle, or as close to normal as possible, then fucking sue them for discrimination, people have got to learn their lesson either the nice or the hard way.
